Sketches make wonderful portraits at an economical price.

It is the most practical to do these from sharp-quality, head-and-shoulders photos. If the sketch will be of you or someone near you, a 300-dpi .jpg close-up taken with a 4meg or higher-resolution camera set at maximum resolution will work.

We can often work from lower-quality, older photos by restoring them.

Painted portraits are done with acrylic paints on stretched canvas. Multi-media colors may be used to bring out some colors. A color photo of the subject is needed, unless someone can describe the person’s coloring very accurately.

Paintings

Paintings add life to your loved one’s face and to your walls. Prices vary, depending on size and number of figures in the painting.

This 11- by 14-inch painting, unframed, cost $600, and was completed from the photo shown with an earlier sketch.

When custom framed, the total cost was $930, with the frame billed at the framer’s price. Unframed prints of a painting, up to 11- by 17-inches are printed in full color on heavy, glossy photo paper and cost $40 each.

This 15- by 30-inch painting was done from life, using several in-person sittings. Although cropped here, the painting shows a three-quarters’ body view. The cost was $1,200 unframed.

Why Use Custom Framing?

Custom framing makes your sketch, painting, or print into a focal point for your home that standard-size, conventional metal or wood frames can’t duplicate.

For this reason, we do not mark up custom frame prices or charge handling fees. You pay only what the framer charged. Shipping charges are applicable if you live outside of Dallas.

Shipping

Unframed sketches, paintings, and prints are shipped via media mail free within the United States. Framed picture shipping is billed at cost. Faster shipping or shipping to other countries will be billed at actual cost.  FedEx has proven to be our most reliable shipper, handling your works of art with care, and other shippers can be used at your request.
